To do for Scrimmage
I would like to leave as early as possible tomorrow for scrimmage. whether or not we use an impeller or a vacuum or neither, will make very little difference in terms of driving and shooting, and practice with those cannot me done after ship like impeller experimentation can be. We should pack the equipment for these though. We also need to strengthen the front section of the chassis including the roller holders and the backing bar. Is there anything else major that we should do before leaving for scrimmage?

Strengthening the front can be done at scrimmage. I agree that we should leave for scrimmage quickly.
I do not agree in the fact that whether we use the roller vs. the impeller making a big different. It will make a HUGE different. Right now, the roller works, but one has to be gentle with it while driving, while with the vacuum, one can handle it a big roughly and driving needs to be done that much more carefully.
Don't get too eager. The ball holding mechanism is the third most important aspect of this year's robot, and drivers cannot hope to be accurately measured without the correct mechanism.
And as far as evaluating the drivers is concerned, we'll be able to immediately tell who's capable and incapable at certain positions at certain times. And the ones that we decide are about the same level can play practice matches on Thursday the day of P'tree.

I think that if we increase the speed on the roller we might get better performance. Everything seems so right except the speed. 'Course I may be missing something..

Third most important? Kicker, Holder, and what?
They'll still get points for driving if they can control the robot well. If the driver can do that, and the ball manipulator can control well when the ball should be kicked, then having a better holder should just go hand in hand.

Re: To do for Scrimmage
I have my list as Chassis, Kicker, and Holder.

That can be easily fixed now that we have compund gearing. all we have to do is trade out the large sprocket on the middle axle for a slightly smaller one. No need to remove the roller. Hooray for compound gearing!
Sunny, because the driving controls are independent of manipulator controls, what ball holder we use has little effect on the performance of the driver (I'm not saying the manipulatorerer). Thus we can still practice driving no matter what holding machanism.

I think that the kicker and drivetrain are sort of tied for first and second, making the holder third.

Huzaah. So it'd be a "quick" change, yeah? I think this would be something worth trying at scrimmage. We've got nothing else to do there unless something breaks.

I think that the way a driver approaches driving will be different, but this is a mute point. We're looking for good people.
