Hi all,
Trying to figure out what I can do about passing on all the images/photographs I have taken and have, but I can't really decide on a specific one.
Option 1: Buy a external hard drive for pictures and movies.
This is a good idea that allows a lot of freedom as far as what we can do with it and what we can put on it. However though, it doesn't allow for "reliable" backup and use. The harddrive could be damaged (by means of corruption or dropped) and thus become useless (losing years of pictures). Backing up is also a problem as there would be no means of backing up the data except for having two harddrives and routinely cloning the main drive onto the backup. Having a harddrive is hard to use as someone would have to check it out and could get lost and/or other things.
Option 2: Picasa
This is another good idea. What we would do is to buy out a plan for Picasa (probably 200 GB for $50 a year) and then anytime anyone takes pictures for the team have them upload it onto Picasa. None of this of me having to tell whomever has pictures to email them to me, just tell them where to go and do it. Yeah it kinda places some reliance on Google as far as accounts go and their hard drives not crashing (but it's Google - they have the Earth as a HDD), but its easier. The bad things are that the photos will have to be downsized a bit (here is an example of what it 'd probably be), all the photos are being placed in the hands of a 3rd party company (i.e. we can't manage it and I don't know if we can get all the photos back if we wish), and uploadability.
Option 3: Picasa + HDD
Same as option 1 & 2, but having a external HDD for documents and movies. Mainly movies. Same problems as #1.
That is all I can think of. Any other options are welcome.
And this keyboard is really stick in Mr. Brunswick's room. Ick.
