Annyeong-haseyo, everyone!
The team discussed the following data on this week's meeting:
* G.R.I.T.S. (Georgia Robotics Invitational Tournament and Showcase)
* Online Robot Demonstrations
* GSMST Challenge
* VEX Robotics Competition Qualifier
* LEGO League Team at Hull Middle School
1. G.R.I.T.S. (Georgia Robotics Invitational Tournament and Showcase)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please congratulate our team for their astounding success at Warner Robins - the Robolions won this year's G.R.I.T.S. (Georgia Robotics Invitational Tournament and Showcase) event! The attending members left the school at 5:00 AM to participate in this exciting competition and returned with two awards in their hands: the Outreach Award for the gaining the greatest number of new members, and the Competition Award for winning the showcase with two allied teams.
In this year's tournament, the team fought against many difficult contestants; however, our greatest opponent was our own robot itself, the Chimichanga - the machine continuously became damaged and battered throughout the competition. However, our astounding crew was able to repair and strengthen the robot and the Chimichanga ultimately won the event with two other teams' robots.
The team would like to thank our sponsors, parent volunteers, alumni, mentors, and the members for their support in this event!
2. Online Robot Demonstrations
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Members, please note that there are several online videos that pertain to VEX robots, such as those in YouTube. Please use your technology effectively and gain greater knowledge on how to build well-designed robots.
3. GSMST Challenge
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
There will be a VEX Qualifier competition on Saturday, November 6, at Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology (GSMST). The Robolions will be sending two teams to this event and will be bringing members to watch and learn from this competition. If you are interested in participating in this event, please complete your robot and perform a demonstration to Mrs. Rutland by November 2.
A small group of five to six people will go to GSMST to help them set up on Friday, November 5. Please notify Mrs. Rutland if you wish to assist in the setup. Also, GSMST has graciously offered to loan us their two competition fields for our November 20th event - please thank GSMST for their assistance.
4. VEX Robotics Competition Qualifier
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The VEX Robotics Competition Qualifier is nearing! The Robolions will host and participate in the all-day tournament on November 20 at Peachtree Ridge High School. Team members must arrive to school by 7:00 AM at the day of the competition. Seeing as there are only four weeks left until the qualifier, the team suggests each team to create a timeline to complete the robot within two weeks so that you have the other two weeks to program and practice. Teams also have the option to work on the robots on Thursday afternoons - please make the best use of your time! If you are unsure of anything, please contact your team's mentor.
The team asks for student volunteers to help set up the arena in the Commons area on Friday, November 19. Also, we require ten or more additional parents to assist us in this qualifier! Please notify Mrs. Rutland if you are able to assist us in this event.
5. LEGO League Team at Hull Middle School
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The robotics students at Hull Middle School require assistance in their robot construction on Thursdays, October 21 and 28. Please notify Mrs. Rutland if you are able to assist the Hull Middle School robotics team on these dates.

Thank you for reading this week's Syndication. Have a safe and an enjoyable week!
