Guten Tag, everyone! My name is Paul, and I will be your new secretary for 2010-2011 Robolions. The Syndication is a weekly newsletter that will provide updates and additional information for members to peruse - I hope that everyone will be able to make use of this utility. The team discussed the following data today:
* G.R.I.T.S. (Georgia Robotics Invitational Tournament and Showcase)
* New officers
* Programming courses
* VEX Robotics Competition Qualifier
1. G.R.I.T.S.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Robolions will meet on October 16 to participate in the Georgia Robotics Invitational Tournament and Showcase (G.R.I.T.S.) Members must inform Mrs. Rutland in D216 before October 2 to join the team for this tournament. The team will leave Peachtree Ridge High School at 5:00 AM to Warner Robins Air Force Base via carpooling. Parents who would like to assist in carpooling at that date are welcome to attend.
2. New officers
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
We have two new officers for the Robotics team! The new secretary is Paul Han, and the new historian is Malcolm Julian. Please give them a round of applause! New officers, please note that all work must be verified by Mrs. Rutland before it is published to the general public.
3. Programming courses
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
David Cox and Paul Han will be training those who are interested in programming. There will be two classes on programming: the RobotC course and the general programming course (GPC). The RobotC programming course will be led by David Cox, and these lessons will be mandatory for those who wish to program the robots for the competition. The GPC will be led by Paul Han, and it will primarily be taught over the Internet. This course will prepare students for next semester's C++ programming and provide general knowledge of computer programming. Please contact David Cox for more details on the RobotC programming course and Paul Han for the general programming course.
4. VEX Robotics Competition Qualifier
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The VEX Robotics Competition Qualifier is nearing! The Robolions will participate in the tournament on November 20 at Peachtree Ridge High School. Seeing as there are only nine weeks left until the qualifier, the team suggests each team to create a timeline to complete the robot by the due date. Teams also have the option to work on the robots on Thursday afternoons - please make the best use of your time! If you are unsure of anything, please contact your team's mentor.
That is the summary of this week's Syndication. I hope that everyone will have a wonderful week!
Thank you,
Paul Han
