Laptop

Stuff that doesn't relate to robotics directly...

Laptop

So, this topic isn't really robotics related, but I felt that it best fits in this forum.

I recently purchased a Lenovo Y560 with i7 Processor, 500 HDD, and 4 GB of ram.

Part of the desire for this kind of power was for sustainability (not having to upgrade for a little while) and for
CAD stuff.

Well, the CAD stuff is definitely faster as now Inventor isn't *as* slow with large builds.

Renders are still pretty extreme. I did a max quality render on this laptop, and after 30 minutes of immense lag on the system
and the devil's fire erupting from the air vent, I decided to quit the rendering so that I may return to working on my laptop.

I'll set it to render when I'm about to step away for a couple of hours and see what the end result is.

Would be careful with pushing ye processor, too much heat and it won't go so fast anymore. :P

Does the computer have temperature sensors in various places? Be sweet to look at some numbers. :D

Did a google for ye laptop with "temperature sensors" or just "sensors", but returned nothing other than "ambient light sensor". So, guessing not.
