Olympics

Anyone else watching the Olympics?

I'm watching Speed Skating right now. The only thing I can think about is a) Jeez it looks like they're just walking and b) I wonder how they get the camera to rotate around on the outside of the track.

Plus there are like some people holding up like "cue card" looking things next to the ice when the racers come around for some reason. Not sure why they are there...

a) If you're watching the same event I am, then like it's apparently ice with more friction, so it takes more to push yourself around the track. But yeah, it does look like they're walking. :D

b) If the cameras are anything like the ones they use in the football games, then it can't be that hard.

Those things are generally used by coaches in bike racing to show strategy, times, encouragement etc. Maybe they share the same purpose.

Oh yeah. That's probably it. They show their times on the TV so that must be it.

I just can't wait for curling so I can do some serious cheering.</sarcasm>
