Main Site Issues

Postby livedj1173 » June 17th, 2010, 3:04 pm

Hello All,

I'm not sure of all the people who have visited the main site since school let out. The site is having major issues... We need to decide do we want to pick another theme or go back to the original theme and decide later.

Again - define issues.

Well, looking at it now, there's nothing there. It seems like the last time it was updated was in September...

It seems by the poll, that the main issue is the theme.

No matter what you do, the themes that you see will look cool. But those themes are developed and made to look nice. It will more than putting up a new theme. Someone will need to modify the theme, add pictures, and make it look good.

We also need to add content...A bit lacking in that department as of now.
We did not invent the algorithm. The algorithm consistently finds Jesus. The algorithm killed Jeeves.
The algorithm is banned in China. The algorithm is from Jersey. The algorithm constantly finds Jesus.
This is not the algorithm. This is close.

I think the system of which we are using (Wordpress) and our needs should be re-evaluated to choose a platform (Wordpress is a platform) that better suits our needs.

viewtopic.php?f=10&t=548

I only say this because most of the pages contain at least 25% of extra "scrolling room" we don't need. The main page (i.e. the home page) contains around 49% unnecessary scrolling/information. Sure, we could edit the template or modify Wordpress's settings, but I believe we could use something better for what we need.

Well with the current theme there is some files that are missing. Which is causing errors in the theme. There is no where to put the Member and Alumni pages...

Why are there files missing? Didn't you take a full back up a few weeks ago? Use that (JUST for the theme, not everything).
